The Victorian Government’s $10.8 million Social Enterprise Strategy aims to improve and expand Victoria’s social enterprise sector.

The initiative is part-funded through Jobs Victoria, who is supporting jobs growth across the state and assisting workers to take up these new job opportunities.

The strategy is the first of its kind in Australia and has been developed to make sure Victoria leads the country in employment participation for all jobseekers. A healthy social enterprise sector creates new jobs and opportunities for people facing barriers to employment and helps build economic growth.

The Social Enterprise Strategy has three action areas:

  • increasing impact and innovation
  • building business capacity and skills
  • improving market access.
