Twenty-one year old Paris Pritchard is participating in Jobs Victoria's Youth Employment Scheme (YES). She works as an Environment and Facilities Officer at the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources and is completing a Certificate IV in Business.
Paris is based in Melbourne's CBD and is gaining supported, on-the-job experience in the Victorian state government. She is proud to represent her Polynesian culture in business and government. Once she has completed the YES traineeship, Paris will go on to Jobs Victoria's two-year Youth Cadetship Scheme and study a Certificate IV in Government. Her message for other young people? If you are dedicated and work hard, this will always lead to opportunity.
Jobs Victoria's Youth Employment Scheme offers Victorians aged between 15 and 24 paid work experience in the Victorian public sector alongside formal business qualification studies. Eligible YES trainees have the opportunity to go on to the Youth Cadetship Scheme and further accreditation.
