Jobs Victoria is providing wage top-ups to attract 240 trainees to tourism and hospitality roles in regional Victoria.
Jobs Victoria is partnering with community-based registered group training organisation Westvic Staffing Solutions to coordinate training and work placements with employers throughout regional Victoria.
Trainees will receive paid training and 12 months guaranteed employment while undertaking placements across regional host businesses. They will also receive wage supplements up to $10,000 over 12 months on top of the award wage and other support, including individualised mentoring, to support a positive start to their new careers.
The program will roll out across regional Victoria, with a focus on hospitality and tourism centres in the South Coast, Geelong, Colac, Ballarat, Bendigo, Echuca and Gippsland over the next 12 months.
