Jobs Victoria mentor Laura gave Peter the tools and confidence to find work

Peter spent more than a decade out of work due to a workplace injury. At 53, with no money coming in, and two of his six children still living at home, Peter found himself at a low point. He wanted to get back to work and be a positive role model for his sons.

He connected with mental health agency headspace, and they referred him to Jobs Victoria Mentors Qualify in Ballarat. They worked with Peter on interview training and put him forward for a job at McDonalds.

Peter is now happily cooking and hasn’t looked back. Peter says his confidence has improved and his future is a lot brighter.

"My sons were going to Headspace and then they talked to me and then put me onto qualify and Qualify took me in and helped me"
