The Jobs Victoria Fund is providing $250 million in wage subsidies to help Victorian businesses to grow and to create 10,000 secure jobs.

If you are a Victorian employer, the Jobs Victoria Fund can financially support you to employ people who have been most affected by the economic impacts of the pandemic – by hiring new staff or increasing hours for existing employees.

The Jobs Victoria Fund eligibility criteria changed on 16 November 2021 so that more businesses and employees are eligible.

Jobs Victoria Fund overview

Jobs Victoria wage subsidies of up to $20,000 are available to meet the costs associated with employing someone for 12 months.

To be eligible for a wage subsidy, jobs must be for at least 19 hours per week (or eight hours if an exemption applies).

The number of wage subsidies you can apply for over the life of the Fund depends on the size of your business.

At least 60 per cent of jobs supported by the Jobs Victoria Fund will be for women, reflecting the significant impact the pandemic has had on their employment opportunities.

To qualify for the subsidy, you must employ someone from at least one of the priority groups who have been most impacted by the pandemic:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
  • jobseekers registered with a Jobs Victoria Mentor service
  • people unemployed for six months or more
  • newly arrived migrants from non-English speaking backgrounds
  • women aged 45 years and over
  • people seeking asylum/refugees
  • people with disability
  • single parents
  • veterans
  • men and people who do not identify as a woman aged 45 years and over
  • young people aged under 25
  • people previously or currently employed under the Working for Victoria initiative.

If you meet all the eligibility criteria and supply the necessary information, you will receive funding, subject to availability of funds and conditions.

The Statutory Declaration can be witnessed and signed electronically. For more information visit the Department of Justice and Community Safety webpage , including how to witness legal documents online by audiovisual link.

The Statutory Declaration must be completed by the declarant in Victoria and witnessed in Victoria. Applicants who are located interstate should delegate authority to someone else in their organisation, so that the document is completed and signed within Victoria.

Electronic versions of the Employee Consent Form are acceptable.

If the following documents are applicable to your organisation, they should also be attached to your application.

  • Letter of Authority
    If a third party representative (such as your accountant or lawyer) is applying on your behalf, you must complete a Letter of Authority to authorise this.
  • Trustee Declaration
    Applicants who are registered as a Trust will be required to complete the Trustee Declaration.
